Team Zappa resides in Caribou Hills in winter. We offer a roughly 3 (total) hr dog sled experience and meet the dogs. We have some warm gear if you need. Mushing is truly an unforgettable experience. We also own and manage a few off-grid cabins in Caribou Hills and summer fish camp/vacation rentals in Kasilof. Summer time dog kart rides are an option June—September at our Kasilof location.

Team Zappa has been hosting dog sled experience over 14 years. Together Tim and Monica have participated in 29 Iditarod races and many other mushing events. Tim Osmar is a life long Alaskan, son of Iditarod champion Dean Osmar and been mushing sled dogs since he was 11 years old. Tim has finished 23 Iditarod races and placed as high as 3

Tim Osmar is a life long Alaskan, son of Iditarod champion Dean Osmar and been mushing sled dogs since he was 11 years old. Tim has finished 23 Iditarod races and placed as high as 3rd and won the Yukon Quest race in 2001. Monica moved to Alaska from Wisconsin after 7 years of collegiate explorations. She’s participated in 6 Iditarod races, been an active real estate agent in Alaska since 2018.

Not only are they about the best athletes to have ever set foot on the planet, they ALSO have hearts of gold, empathy and love to equal or top any human. While you will have the time of your life on the dog sled experience, guaranteed the dogs will have more fun! Its what they live for!
