Help us make it to the finish line
A few days before the race I got a call from Katie Orlinsky, a photographer who does work for New York Times, National Geographic and other national outlets. She was looking to photograph women of the Iditarod for a piece in the NY Times. This is one of my favorite photos of all time.
I'm not sure what all the stress was about at the Fairbanks re-start, but it looks like there was some high tension, as there always is at the start of such a massive event.
My partner Tim is the most amazing and helpful mushing partner and one could ask for, he was happy to greet us in Nome and while he was very proud of us, he missed us a lot.
The weather went from ugly to worse at the ceremonial start in Anchorage, I will stilly trying to look friendly, but couldn't wait for the trip to be over and dry out!
He always knew he was the big hot shot, but after running over 500 miles in single lead in this year's race, it was time to brag about it!
